South Oxfordshire District Council: dog rules

Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places

We've only partly added this council's dog rules. Check the source for the full order.

Partly added

  • Pick up after your dog on public land. Bagging it and leaving the bag is not picking up.
  • We found no district-wide lead or dog-ban order. Follow signs in parks and play areas.

Fouling law, enforced by the joint South and Vale team.

Source: South Oxfordshire District Council. Checked October 2026.

Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
