Stroud District Council: dog rules
Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
Rules added
- Dogs on a lead on signed school footpaths, allotments, cemeteries, car parks, canal towpaths and cycle paths. Forestry land, access land, bridleways and byways are not covered.
- Dog-ban order for signed areas such as play areas. Put your dog on a lead if an officer asks. Pick up.
Orders extended for three years from 18 October 2026.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
